Making Jesus Known - Shaping Lives - Serving the Church
Our Story
Nathan has been serving as the pastor at Greenleaf Friends Church since 2023, and we’ve genuinely loved this season of life and ministry. But over the past year, something unexpected started happening. Through a lot of prayer, conversations with wise people, and a few moments that felt too clear to ignore, it became obvious that God was opening a new door—one we weren’t necessarily looking for—toward life and ministry in Bangkok.
Saying yes hasn’t been easy. We love this church. We love the people, the rhythms, the life we’ve built here. But at the same time, there’s been a growing sense of peace that Jesus is inviting us into a new season of life and ministry with him.
In some ways, this step feels like a long time coming. Libby grew up as a pastor’s kid and has had a heart for missions for as long as she can remember. And early on in ministry, Nathan was afforded the opportunity to organize and lead mission trips to Central America for several years, which left a lasting mark and grew a deep love for cross-cultural ministry.
Now we’re stepping into this next chapter together as a family of six—learning, adjusting, and trusting Jesus one day at a time.
Why Thailand?
Thailand is a beautiful country with a rich culture, yet the scale of spiritual need in Bangkok is immense. Many in Thailand have little to no exposure to the gospel. We believe God is at work in this massive, dynamic city, and we want to be part of sharing His love and truth with those who haven't yet heard. Our hope is to build genuine relationships as we point people to Christ through our daily lives.
What’s striking about Thailand is this: it’s open, welcoming, free, and yet still deeply unreached. That combination is rare. It’s a place where long-term, relational discipleship is both needed and possible, and that’s part of what draws us there.
What We'll Be Doing
Teaching Theatre at ICS Bangkok
Libby's Role
Language & Cultural Immersion
Libby will be teaching Theatre at International Community School Bangkok (ICS), a Christian school serving over 1,200 students from more than 30 nations. Many students have little or no exposure to Christian faith.
Nathan will be engaging in full-time Thai language and cultural learning with the goal to know and love the Thai people well. This first year of immersion will prepare him for future work in evangelism, discipleship, and partnership with the Thai people. Learning the language is essential for building deep relationships and understanding the local context organically.
ICS Vision and Mission:
“To continuously excel as a Christ-centered learning community… Based on the Bible, in partnership with parents, we teach the whole student to know and apply wisdom for the good of our world and the glory of God.”
Her classroom and productions will become places of presence, encouragement, and gospel-shaped influence.

Prayer Support
Prayer is not a small task - it is essential.
We are stepping into a city of over 15 million people, a new language, and a culture we are just beginning to understand. We need people who will faithfully carry this work before the Lord.
If you feel led, we would love to have you praying with us. Whether it’s occasional or ongoing, your prayers matter more than you might realize. They are a real part of what God is doing, both in us and in the people we’ll meet.
Financial Support
We feel very grateful that Libby's position at ICS will cover the majority of our ongoing living expenses, freeing us to focus on the initial costs of relocating and establishing our family in Thailand.
